The basics:
First of all, a shy-kit cave, if you don't know, is where someone creates an area where the 'kits' are. They create imaginary kits with histories that have an impact on their lives. Then, you have to win their trust. What I mean by that is that you have to get the kit you are trying out to really like you and want you to be their adoptive parent. Most of the time, the kits can be hostile, nervous, or upset. Some can be playful. Note: These are imaginary kits, not real ones. They are RPed(roleplayed) by the owner of by a helper at the cave. They choose the personality of the kit.

Keys to winning over a kit:
To get a kit at a shy kit cave, you have to get the kit to really like you. I have listed some tips below for this.
Tip #1: Get to know the kit. Understand the kit's personality. What is he/she like most of the time? Find out the kit's interests and dislikes by experimenting. Does this kit like mossball, but doesn't like to learn hunting? Or is it the other way around? This can be an advantage to you.
Tip #2: Once you have figured out the kit's personality, you have to let the kit get to know YOU. Tell the 'kit' some stuff about your RP character. (Never personal information! You use a cat character and you can make up some stuff about your cat or other character!) Explain your RP character's favorite games and see if the kit likes it too. If he/she does, then play a game!
Tip #3: Be active! If you aren't the kit may start to 'lose memory' of you. (Being inactive can get you deleted. Some caves have rules that if you aren't on there for a certain amount of time there will be consequences.)
Tip #4: Help the kit and be there for the kit. That way, the kit can start to see that you really care about them. (Key for hard kits)
Tip #5: After you and the kit are friends, then you can start pressing gently for the kit's history. (This may be different for Adoption Centers) The kit may seem defensive of it so let it go when the kit starts to get upset. After a while, he/she may start to warm up and admit some things. The history plays a role in shy-kit caves)
Tip #6: You and the kit will be best friends. Then, you can start thinking of taking them home, as long as the kit agrees. Don't be too all-of-a-sudden with it. If you don't understand that, it means to just blurt out something like, "Let's play a game of mossball...CAN I ADOPT YOU ALREADY?!"
Tip #7: Hopefully, the kit will really like you and agree

First, click Discussion on Warriors FanClans. (I believe they belong there, but I have mine in the Misc.

Help
If you may have missed something, I've listed some key things below.
A kit is imaginary and the owner or helper roleplays it. They choose their behavior and personality. You RP your own cat with its own personality.
Kits have interests and dislikes so be careful.
Don't press too hard on the kit's history.

Where to find one
Shy-kit caves are common in Warriors Misc. though there are some in Warrior FanClans.
